How AppGuide selects your tools
Every tool offered in this Passeport Féminin space was reviewed by AppGuide before being presented to you.
Who is AppGuide?
AppGuide is a Quebec company that evaluates digital health tools: apps, websites, videos, podcasts and articles.
For this space offered by Santé Québec Laurentides, AppGuide works independently. The region’s family medicine groups (GMFs) then choose, among the reviewed tools, those that meet the needs of local women.
The 4 steps
1. Search
We identify the tools available for women’s health, from puberty to menopause.
2. Review
We review each tool against specific criteria, listed below.
3. Select
With the Laurentides GMFs, we keep only the most useful ones and organize them into collections, by age and needs.
4. Revisit
We regularly revisit the selection. A tool that is no longer reliable or available is removed.
Our criteria
To be selected, a tool must be:
Reliable: validated by a health professional, or supported by research.
Respectful of your data: it does not sell your data. When possible, it can be used without creating an account.
Available in French: it is offered in French in Quebec.
Free whenever possible: if a tool has paid options, this is noted on its page.
Useful: it meets a real need of women, at every stage of life.
Good to know
These tools do not replace advice from your doctor, your GMF team or your pharmacist.
This selection is not exhaustive. Other good tools exist.
AppGuide did not create these tools. They belong to their respective authors.
